CrowdStrike signs deals to buy Dreadnode and Fiddler AI as it pushes into AI agent security

Why it matters: The two deals cover different stages of AI deployment: Dreadnode tests models and agents for weaknesses before they ship, and Fiddler watches and explains what agents do once they are running.

CrowdStrike (CRWD) said on Tuesday that it has signed definitive agreements to buy two AI companies, Dreadnode and Fiddler AI. It announced both deals at its European customer conference in Barcelona.

Dreadnode: The company builds automated security testing for AI. CrowdStrike says its software runs more than 100 known AI attack strategies, including jailbreaks, prompt injection, and multi-turn and agent-specific attacks, against AI models, agent reasoning loops, applications and MCP servers. It ranks findings by severity and maps them to widely used AI security frameworks, including the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs. CrowdStrike says the Dreadnode team will join its Cyber Superintelligence Lab and that Automated AI Security Testing will be generally available in its fiscal fourth quarter of 2027.

Fiddler AI: Fiddler focuses on AI agent observability and explainability: evaluating agents before they are deployed, tracing their decisions and tool calls, and flagging behavioral drift, hallucinations and unintended actions in production. CrowdStrike says Fiddler will be sold as part of its Falcon platform as Falcon Observe, generally available in its fiscal fourth quarter of 2027.

Deal terms: CrowdStrike did not disclose a price for either deal. For both, it says the purchase price is expected to be paid predominantly in cash, with a portion in stock subject to vesting conditions, and that each deal is expected to close during its fiscal fourth quarter of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions. These are the company's own expectations.
