How we correct stories

  • Correction: when a story has a factual error, we fix it and add a dated note at the bottom, for example: "Correction (Oct 30, 2026, 9:10 AM ET): An earlier version misstated X as Y. It is Z." We never silently change a fact.
  • Clarification: when a story is true but misleading or incomplete, we add a note in the same format, with the label Clarification.
  • Update: when a developing story gets new information, we add a note that starts with "Updated" and the time in ET. Updates don't count as corrections.
  • Speed: we acknowledge a correction request within 24 hours and publish the fix once it's verified. A serious error, such as a wrong allegation, a market-moving figure or a misidentified person, is escalated to Funded Weekly editors right away and the story is pulled until it's fixed.
  • Newsletters and social posts: if an error went out in a newsletter or post, the correction runs in the next issue, or as a reply or post on the same channel.
  • Takedowns: only for legal or safety reasons, decided by Funded Weekly editors and logged. We don't unpublish stories to hide mistakes.
